The Allendale Police Department is located at 290 Franklin Turnpike. The Police provide first response to all medical, fire and rescue emergencies in addition to traffic control, crime investigation, etc. Common service calls answered by patrol officers involve investigation of all motor vehicle accidents, domestic and wild animal complaints, vacant house checks, assisting disable and locked out motorists and assisting residents with burglar alarm and physical security concerns. Further, the Police also respond to domestic violence complains.
Police headquarters is staffed 24 hours per day, dispatching all Borough emergency services. An in-house computer system maintains emergency locations and contact information on all residential and business properties, and cross-references emergency keys that residents may store at headquarters. Communication Officer's phones are equipped to trace phone numbers to addresses and accept calls from the deaf (T.D.D). A driveway mounted intercom system allows the physically challenged direct access to emergency personnel. A referral sourcebook is maintained by desk staff, connecting those in need with free shelter, counseling, psychiatric screening and domestic violence relief.
Staff members, by appointment, provide various free services including home security checks, bicycle registrations and safety products, traffic/seat belt information, group tours of headquarters, K-9 demonstrations and public speaking engagements.
