Permits
Construction Permits
Some construction applications require Engineering review, including but not limited to:
- New Construction. New Single Family Residence Checklist.
- Additions that increase the building footprint more than 500 square feet. Addition Checklist.
- In-ground pools. In-Ground Pool Checklist.
- Any site work that requires a soil disturbance greater than 50 cubic yards. See Soil Movement Permit Application below.

Soil Movement Permits
A soil movement permit is required for any soil disturbance greater than 50 cubic yards. See Section 225 of the Borough Code for application requirements.
Street Opening Permits
A street opening permit is required for any opening, tearing up, excavating, tunneling or boring under any street in the Borough of Allendale, including modifying or creating curb cuts for driveways. See Section 233 of the Borough Code for application requirements.
Sidewalk Permits
Residents are required to maintain the entire section of sidewalk along their property, as per Section 233-22 of the Borough Code.
