Hurricane Henri will impact our area with heavy rain & gusty winds especially during the daylight hours tomorrow, Sunday 08/22/21. Downpours are likely and potential periods of steadier, heavier rain; before conditions improve through Sunday night as the storm slowly departs the region.

The Allendale Office of Emergency Management would like to remind residents of the following safety tips in regard to severe weather events:

Report any emergencies to 9-1-1 immediately.

Report power outages directly to Orange and Rockland at www.oru.com or by calling 1-877-434-4100. After reporting a power outage, you can view an outage map as well as estimated restoration times on the Orange and Rockland Storm Center website https://outagemap.oru.com/

Consider ALL downed wires as electrified. DO NOT approach downed wires. Be aware that wires may be entangled in downed tree limbs.

Please take this time to secure all outside items so that they do not become dangerous debris impacted by high winds.

Look for weather updates from local officials as well as the National Weather Service (weather.gov).
