Update #2 - 10/26/2021

This is a message from the Borough of Allendale. Local officials continue to monitor the current weather event the area is experiencing. As of 11 am today, an area weather station measured 4.4 inches of rain over the last 24 hours. Rain is expected to continue into the night, tapering off tomorrow (Wednesday) morning. Roadways may be flooded, please drive with caution and be alert for road closures. Do not pass barricades and/or road closed signs or traffic cones. Be alert for emergency responders on roadways. Officials are monitoring stream and river conditions and will disseminate additional information as needed. 

 

 

Update #1 - 10/25/2021 

This is a message from the Borough of Allendale. The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch from 8pm tonight through 5pm Tuesday evening.

Borough officials have been monitoring the current weather system that will affect our area from this evening through tomorrow night. Rain will be heavy at times; total rainfall will be approximately 2 to 4 inches, with locally higher amounts possible.

Currently the heaviest rain bands are forecast to arrive over Bergen County during the morning rush hour. 

Winds will be 15 – 25 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH. Winds may cause downed trees and power outages.

Gov Murphy has issued state wide State of Emergency effective 8 pm this evening in response to tonight's severe weather event.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will update as information becomes available.
