Allendale Police Dept. Statement Regarding Recent Tik Tok Posts

Allendale Board of Education and Northern Highlands Regional Board of Education School Parents:

You may hear rhetoric surrounding Tik Tok posts which reference a nonspecific nationwide threat of school shootings with no location information provided and no named specific facility in the United States, to occur on December 17, 2021.   Your children may also have heard rumors and be alarmed.  Please rest assured and also communicate to your children that the Law Enforcement Community is aware of the Tik Tok posts and Police Cyber Crimes units have investigated them.  All information examined by our County Prosecutor’s Office at this time indicates the threats do not involve Bergen County.

Although the threat is not believed credible, we will nonetheless increase interior school patrols and increase our uniform presence outside our schools to reduce any concerns your or your children may have from hearing the rumors.
