Halloween Safety Tips from the Allendale PD

Halloween Safety Tips:

1. Costumes should be flame resistant and well fitting
2. Stay in groups with at least one adult
3. Masks should fit securely and provide adequate vision and ventilation 
4. Look both ways before crossing the street
5. Cross the streets only at a crosswalk or corner
6. Use sidewalks and avoid walking in the roadway
7. If you must walk in the roadway, walk facing traffic
8. Carry flashlights or glow sticks to stay visible to traffic
9. Examine all candy before eating
10. Drive cautiously and watch for pedestrians
