Message from the APD on Halloween

Halloween

Greetings from the Allendale Police Department,

I would like to update the borough on plans for Halloween night. As you well know, the Dale Avenue/New Street/Ceeley Court neighborhood attracts a large amount of trick-or-treaters and other pedestrians. This causes a unique challenge for the police department to create an enjoyable and safe environment for everyone on Halloween night not only this neighborhood, but also other areas of town. Pedestrian safety is a team effort. On Halloween night, there will be an increased police presence. In order to minimize the number of vehicles driving on the roads, I strongly suggest that residents and guests avoid driving once children are present. If it is absolutely necessary to drive when crowds are present, please do so with extreme caution. As we have in prior years, the borough has implemented a 9pm curfew for persons under the age of 18 on both 10/30/22 and 10/31/22.

With your help, we can work to facilitate a safe environment for our children.

Thank you for your cooperation and assistance!

Regards,

Michael T. Dillon
