Veolia - Lead Service Line Project - Small Flags

Veolia

Veolia is in Allendale as part of its sweeping, $159 million project to protect residents by removing lead pipes from the system.

Crews are working to determine whether homes along various streets have a lead or galvanized service line. This includes some digging and representatives may also ask for access to the meter of some homes. The Company will restore any areas that are disturbed during this process.

If a lead or galvanized pipe is found, Veolia will remove it AT NO COST TO THE HOMEOWNER.

J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc., a Veolia partner, is performing the work. You may see small flags marking water and gas lines on properties. This is required ahead of any digging. Please do not disturb the flags.

If you have any questions, please call Veolia at 1-800-422-5987.

Since 2019, Veolia has had more than a dozen crews working every day to replace lead service lines, the pipes that run from the main in the street to an individual home. We've removed more than 13,000 lines so far -- and we aren't slowing down until all the lead is gone. How do we do it? Here’s a video of one of our crews in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQv04aFTGKs

Veolia appreciates your patience. In the field and the lab, we’re working every day to remove lead and ensure our customers have superior drinking water and reliable service for generations to come.
