Police Officer 

Applicants must be: Full time NJ PTC Certified Police Officer or Waiver Eligible SLEO II or Academy Alternate Route Candidate (current or graduated)

Below is a list of minimum qualifications that applicants must possess:

Applicant must be a citizen of the United States and a resident of New Jersey.

Applicant must be a high school graduate or possess a GED.

Applicant must possess a valid NJ driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.

Applicant must be no less than 18 years of age or more than 35 years of age, at time of appointment.

Applicant must be physically fit to perform all the duties associated with the position of police officers and must be eligible for inclusion in the New Jersey State Police and Firemen’s Retirement System (PFRS).

Applicant must be of good moral character and have a record free of convictions of any crime, indictable offense, or any crime or offense involving moral turpitude. Applicant must meet NJ Police Training Commission requirements for licensing.

Applicants must either have graduated from a NJ PTC academy and be eligible for a NJ PTC BCPO certificate, a waiver eligible S.L.E.O II, or enrolled in a NJ PTC alternate route course graduating within six (6) months of announcement.
