SUNSHINE NOTICE LAND USE BOARD - AMENDED HOUSING ELEMENT AND FAIR SHARE PLAN

NOTICE OF LAND USE BOARD MEETING CONCERNING THE  

AMENDED HOUSING ELEMENT AND FAIR SHARE PLAN ADOPTED ON JUNE 16, 2025 BY THE LAND USE BOARD FOR THE BOROUGH OF ALLENDALE

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on February 11, 2026 at 7:00 p.m., in accordance with the Municipal Land Use Law, more particularly N.J.S.A. 40:55D-13, the Land Use Board of the Borough of Allendale, County of Bergen, State of New Jersey (the “Land Use Board”), at a meeting, will conduct a public hearing and take action on an Amendment to the Housing Element and Fair Share Plan of the Master Plan adopted by the Land Use Board of the Borough of Allendale on June 12, 2025 (hereinafter “Amendment”). After public comment, the Planning Board shall consider adoption of the Amendment by way of resolution. The meeting will take place in the Council Chambers, Second Floor, of the Allendale Municipal Building, at 500 West Crescent Avenue, Allendale, NJ, 07401.

The Amendment, if adopted, will change the manner in which the Borough satisfies its obligations by increasing the density in the MFRO-3 Zone , by updating the manner in which the Borough implements its program to extend deed restrictions in accordance with regulations adopted by the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency on November 6, 2025 and by making other changes.   

A copy of the Amendment, and any other relevant documents, will be on file and available for public inspection and/or photocopying (at requestor’s expense) during the business hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., beginning on Monday, February 2, 2026 in the Land Use Board Secretary’s Office located at  the Allendale Municipal Building, at 500 West Crescent Avenue, Allendale, NJ, 07401 and posted on the Borough’s website. Any party interested in commenting on the HEFSP may do so at the public hearing or may submit written comments to the Land Use Board Secretary, Linda Garofalo at lindagarofalo@allendalenj.gov prior to the public hearing date with same being considered in accordance with the rules of the Land Use Board.
