Winter Hours - Recycling & Compost

Compost Center is closed and will remain closed for the Winter. Last day for compost drop-off is Saturday 12/13/25 9-2pm.

The Recycling Center will remain open on Saturdays 9-2pm (weather permitting) throughout the winter for recycling purposes only. (Ie- metal, electronics, plastics, cardboard)

Wednesday @ Recycling Center is closed for Winter and will resume normal operation of recycling & compost- Wednesday 04/01/2026 4-7pm.

Saturday 03/28/26 9-3pm is opening day of Compost Disposal for residents.

Compost Permits will go on sale early March 2026 through the Clerk’s office- Borough Hall 500 W. Crescent Avenue or online by searching “Compost Permits” on allendalenj.gov.  Permits are $30.00 and must be obtained to enter compost area for the 2026 season.
