On September 4, 2025 at approximately 7:45am, the Allendale Police were notified of a trespasser at Northern Highlands High School. School staff and a Special Law Enforcement Officer (SLEO 3) assigned at the school encountered an individual who was placed under arrest by additional responding police.

Reminder that twice-a-week summer trash collection ends on Saturday, September 6. 

Once-a-week garbage collection will resume on Monday, 9/8 & will continue until 5/18/26.

A week ago, the Passaic Valley Water Commission experienced a major water main break that left nearly 200,000 residents without water. Many households in Paterson, Haledon, North Haledon, and Prospect Park are still without running water. 

There is an immediate need for bottled water. To help, Allendale is collecting cases of water at Borough Hall throughout this week. Please donate! 

The August issue of Allendale Happenings a monthly electronic newsletter to keep residents informed, is out now. 

The August 20, 2025 Regular Meetings of the Land Use Board of the Borough of Allendale will be held in-person at the Allendale Municipal Building, 500 West Crescent Avenue, Allendale, New Jersey 07401.  The Regular Session will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Mayor and Council Chambers located on the second floor of the Allendale Municipal Building.  There will be opportunities for public comment at designated times during the Regular Session.  Members of the public who wish to comment must attend in person.
