Honoring Those Who Served

As part of Allendale’s 250th Anniversary celebration, the Borough is proud to launch the Hometown Hero Banner Program. This initiative honors current and former Allendale residents who have served in the United States Armed Forces with commemorative banners displayed in our downtown.

Program Details

  • Location: Banners will be displayed along DeMercurio.

  • Schedule: Banners will be installed by Memorial Day and remain on display through Veterans Day.

  • Display Period: Each sponsored banner will be featured annually for a period of two years (2026 & 2027).

  • Cost: The sponsorship fee is $150. This covers the custom 18" x 36" banner, premium mounting hardware, and installation/storage for two years.

Eligibility

Honorees must be a current or former resident of the Borough of Allendale and have served in any branch of the United States Armed Forces.

How to Apply

Phase 1 is limited to the first 16 completed applications on a first-come, first-served basis.

  1. Download the Application: HTH Order Form

  2. Submit Payment: Checks should be made payable to the Borough of Allendale.

  3. Provide a Photo: A high-resolution photo of the veteran in uniform is required.

Waiting List

If the initial 16 spots are filled, we will maintain a waiting list for Phase 2, which will launch following the completion of the downtown street renovations.
