Scrap Metal

The collection of scrap metal is on the fourth Wednesday of every month at the curb (Please see Collection Schedule for exact dates). Acceptable items must be at least 75% metal. Please make sure all items are visible at the curb. Items must be placed at the curb after 6:00 P.M. the night before on the day of collection.

Collected Items:

• Bicycles
• Washers
• Dryers
• Cookie sheets
• Coat hangers
• Cast-iron radiators
• Refrigerators*
• A/C units*

*By law, appliances such as refrigerators, air conditioners, etc. containing Freon or CFC’s must be certified the Freon or CFC’s have been removed by a certified person or vendor and that a sticker (supplied by the removal company) is attached to the appliance. Appliances without a sticker will not be collected.

Bulk Trash

Bulk trash collection on the east side of Allendale is on the first Wednesday of every month; collection on the west side of Allendale is on the second Wednesday of every month. Items should be placed at the curb after 6pm the day before collection. Accepted items include furniture, carpeting (should be rolled-up and tied or taped), non-metal items. Please note that bulk trash cannot be dropped off at the Recycling Center.
